Acura has officially unveiled its next-generation electric vehicle—the Acura RSX. A Design Steeped in Elegance and Performance
Real-world testing for the Acura RSX has commenced with prototype models on the road this week, outfitted in a distinctive camouflage wrap. Designed by the Acura global team, the wrap highlights the RSX’s sleek coupe-inspired silhouette. Patterns on the camouflage are crafted to emulate light passing through, reflecting a sense of calm, strength, and inner power—the very essence of Acura design.
“The RSX nameplate makes a comeback with a forward-thinking EV design that aligns with Acura’s heritage of fun-to-drive performance,” remarked Mike Langel, Assistant Vice President, Acura National Sales. “The all-new RSX will bolster Acura’s expanding EV portfolio while continuing the momentum created by our existing lineup of SUVs and sedans, including the ADX, RDX, MDX, TLX, and Integra.”
Expanding the Horizon with the 2025 ADX
Spring ushers in the arrival of another significant milestone for Acura—the launch of the 2025 Acura ADX, a turbocharged premium compact SUV. This innovative gateway model strengthens Acura’s SUV offerings and appeals to a new generation of drivers.
Honda EV Hub – A Revolution in Manufacturing
Acura’s EV innovation is backed by Honda’s ambitious efforts at the Honda EV Hub in Ohio, a state-of-the-art facility reimagining vehicle production. Scheduled to begin EV production later this year, the Honda EV Hub embodies sustainable and highly efficient manufacturing practices, enabling the production of internal combustion, hybrid-electric, and battery-electric vehicles on a single line.
Mike Fischer, Executive Chief Engineer and leader of the Honda North American BEV Project, stated, “The RSX will not only be the first EV to emerge from the Honda EV Hub but also signals a shift in how we approach manufacturing—an effort driven by quality, efficiency, and environmental responsibility.”
The reimagined facilities include advancements like megacasting technology at the Anna Engine Plant for building larger, more robust Intelligent Power Units (IPU), which house the RSX’s battery and form part of the vehicle’s platform. This is an entirely new capability for Honda globally, reflecting its pioneering leap forward in EV manufacturing.
